Mr. Robert K. Mansfield is the owner and principal consultant for Buffalo Geological Consulting. He has 30 years experience as a professional geologist in the dual disciplines of environmental hydrogeology and petroleum exploration. His principal expertise is in the nature and dynamics of earth fluids: water, oil and gas.

His current work focuses on the environmental sector with emphasis on groundwater related issues. He manages environmental investigation and remediation projects throughout the western United States.

As a petroleum exploration geologist he worked for Texaco, Forest Oil, and other independent oil companies in the Gulf Coast region of the United States. He served as a general partner in his own oil exploration and producing firm where he pioneered computer methods to digitize downhole  geophysical surveys and automate petroleum exploration techniques. He was named the Outstanding Speaker at the 1985 Houston Geotech Convention. His accomplishments include the discovery of four new fields and a number of new pay zones.

Mr. Mansfield has a degree in Geological Sciences from the University of Buffalo, Buffalo, New York. He holds both Airline Transport Pilot and Flight Instructor certificates. He served on active duty as an officer in the United States Marine Corps.  Mr. Mansfield is a registered geologist in California, Oregon and Washington and a member of various professional societies.
